PRODUCTION RENTALS
These guidelines are for our renting out of costumes for Television, Film and Theater productions
To rent, we require the following;
· A completed copy of our Credit Application filled out by the production company or accounting department.
A Letterhead from the production office for the Production, this should include any accounting info and a list of people authorized to rent costumes under the account.
· A Certificate of Insurance for the Production or a Credit Card
· Payment for the amount of the rental. This can be made using cash, check, or credit card, whichever is preferable to you.
Production Rentals are for a twelve week period; this is to give you enough time for fittings, alterations, rehearsal time, production, strike and cleaning. The deposit needs to be secured before any costume pieces are taken from the shop and payment must be made in full by the beginning of production.
After the initial rental an additional rental fee can be charged for the SECOND twelve weeks and so on, ad infinitum if needed.
If for any reason you are not able to return your costume on your due date, please call us and let us know. If, by the end, of this day we have not heard from you or received the return of your rental, you will be charged an additional 20% of the total rental per day late fee for everyday it is late.
Approval Period
Costumes and costume pieces maybe taken out on a 72hour approval period. The approval period does not apply to jewelry, hats, gloves, shoes, or accessories. Anything brought back within the 72hours will be subject to a 25% restock fee, anything after the 72hours will be charged out as a rental.
Alterations
ALL costumes AND accessories must be returned in the same condition in which they were rented. NO alterations will be made without the permission of The Costume House, any permitted alterations must be altered back to their original state before return. The Costume House offers in-house ALTERATIONS and CUSTOM MADE work upon request for an additional fee.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your order within 24hours of renting your costume there will be a 25% restock fee and your refund will be issued in the form of payment.
After the 24hour period, there will be a 25% restock fee and your refund will be issued in the form of store credit good for up to One Year from the issue date.
Cleaning
ALL costumes are to be returned professionally dry cleaned or laundered, depending on the garment. This includes ties, cravats, ascots, capes, shawls, gloves, socks, scarves, jackets and overcoats. Anything not returned clean will be subject to a $40.00 convenience charge as well as $5.00 per item cleaning charge plus any special cleaning needed for pieces returned.
Return Procedures
As per Industry standards, once everything is cleaned it should be returned in the order it was written up on the inventory sheet. This will ensure the fact that you will know everything you rented is accounted for and result in a speedier return process. Also please bring back any and all hangers, bags, boxes and stock tags that have gone out with your rental.
